Where Nick
stands on the issues...
A 65%
Proposal for Schools
Currently, Iowa is ranked
38th in direct classroom spending. By holding administrators
accountable and making them allocate just 5.5 cents more of
each dollar spent, an additional $199,796,300 would be
channeled directly into the classroom instead of the
bureaucracy without a tax increase!
Tax Reform
-
Lowering property taxes
by passing a meaningful property tax initiative.
-
Promoting higher paying
jobs through tax reform.
-
Lowering taxes on small
business.
Government
Accountability
We must play by the rules,
but lately, we have seen our government mismanage our funds.
The CIETC and Workforce Development scandal unfolding here
in Polk County is devastating. As our young professionals
are leaving Iowa for better job opportunities, we watch
those in charge of job training and development put the
money into their own pockets instead of helping Iowans who
need job security and fair wages. Allocated funds for job
training and support must always be protected and go towards
aiding and retaining the talented here in Iowa with better
paying jobs! Our State's number one export should never be
our young professionals. We must hold government officials
involved accountable for their poor management and greedy
decisions.
